Divine Consign Announces Store Closing After 17½ Years Serving the Chicago Area

Beloved North Riverside furniture consignment store will celebrate more than 17 years of customers, consignors, employees and community with a Store Closing Sale this fall

NORTH RIVERSIDE, Ill. — August 2026 — After more than 17 years in business, Divine Consign, the North Riverside furniture consignment store known for its ever-changing collection of furniture, home décor and one-of-a-kind finds, has announced that it will close its doors this fall.

The store will remain open during the wind-down, with a Store Closing Sale taking place as Divine Consign prepares for its final chapter.

“This is the most difficult decision I have ever had to make,” said Divine Consign owner Kellie Scott. “Divine Consign is like a child to me. For seventeen and a half years, it has been part of my life every single day. But more than that, it became a family — not just to me, but to our employees, customers and consignors. I am incredibly grateful for the community that embraced us and allowed this little idea to become something much bigger than I ever imagined.”

Divine Consign began with a simple idea: create a place where beautiful furniture could find a new home and where locals consigned, locals shopped and locals worked.

Over the next 17½ years, that idea grew into a destination for shoppers throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Thousands of consignors entrusted Divine Consign with their furniture and home furnishings, while generations of customers came through its doors searching for everything from a single unexpected treasure to furniture for an entire home.

Along the way, the store became about much more than furniture.

Divine Consign hosted sip-and-shops, trivia nights, holiday celebrations and red-carpet events; donated furniture to families in transition; partnered with local animal shelters to help pets find homes; and, for a time, expanded its family to include sister store Luxe.

But Scott says the relationships created inside the store are what she will remember most.

“Furniture may have been what brought people through our doors, but the people are what made Divine Consign special,” Scott said. “Customers became friends. Consignors came back to us again and again over the years. Employees became family. People brought their friends, their daughters and sometimes eventually their grandchildren. There are relationships that started because of this store that will continue long after the doors close.”

A Store Closing Sale and One Last Chance to Visit

During its final weeks, Divine Consign will continue selling its extensive selection of furniture, artwork, accessories and home décor as part of its Store Closing Sale.

The store will also offer store-owned merchandise, fixtures, displays and other items for sale as the wind-down progresses.

Scott hopes longtime customers will stop in during the final weeks — whether they are looking for one last Divine Consign find or simply want to say goodbye.

“We would truly love to see everyone,” Scott said. “Come in, say hello, share a memory, find something beautiful and help us celebrate what Divine Consign has been for more than seventeen years. I don’t want these final weeks to be only about closing a store. I want them to be a celebration of everything we created together.”

A Thank You to the Community

For Scott, the final message is simply one of gratitude.

“Thank you to every person who chose to shop small. Thank you to every consignor who trusted us with something that belonged in their home and allowed us to find a new home for it. Thank you to every employee who brought their talent, energy and heart to work. Thank you to everyone who shared one of our posts, told a friend about us, attended an event, wandered through the store on a Saturday afternoon or simply stopped in to say hello.

Divine Consign will continue operating from its North Riverside location during the Store Closing Sale, with the store expected to close in October 2026.
